Find Us At The Markets

Every weekend we bake early, load up the bread and pastries and head to two of Toowoomba’s favourite markets. You’ll find The Baker’s Duck at Toowoomba Farmers Market on Saturdays and SG Sunday Markets on Sundays, with familiar favourites ready to become part of your weekend ritual.

Behind everything we bring to the markets is a team of bakers and pastry chefs who put enormous care into their work. For owner Isaac Moody, those people are what make The Baker’s Duck special.

“It's always our people who make us exceptional. And I'm just passionate about providing the facilities so that they can absolutely reach their full potential in their craft.”

That belief starts with the team’s own ambition to keep making things better.

“We dared a number of years ago to be a regional bakery that could be on the national stage,” Isaac says.

A little craft with your croissant

By the time you’re choosing something for breakfast, plenty of work has already gone into what’s on the table. Behind the bread and pastries are days of preparation, careful timing and a team who care about getting the details right.

For Executive Chef Millie Dunn, some of the best examples of that care are the simplest.

“A plain croissant is one of the purest expressions of a bakery's craft. There's no filling, glaze or garnish to distract from the quality of the pastry itself.”

Our croissants use a semi-sourdough process with spelt flour, bringing a deeper flavour and subtle nuttiness to those buttery layers. So while an almond croissant might already have your name on it, there’s a good case for taking home a classic too.

That same attention carries through to the bread. Pick up a loaf of our popular sourdough for weekend toast, a long lunch or whatever’s taking shape in your market basket.

Saturdays at Toowoomba Farmers Market

Cobb & Co Museum grounds · Every Saturday, 7am–12pm

Start your Saturday with fresh bread, morning buns and a browse through the stalls at Toowoomba Farmers Market.

With fresh produce nearby and live music drifting through the grounds, there’s plenty of reason to take your time. Come for your favourite pastry, then see what else the region’s growers and makers have brought along.

Millie knows the value of looking close to home.

“I've spent my career working in regional areas and some of the best food, hospitality and talent I've seen has come from regional communities.”

Queens Park Botanic Gardens are just across the road too, so there are plenty of spots to settle onto a bench or spread out a picnic rug and enjoy your market finds.

There’s free parking behind Cobb & Co Museum and street parking nearby. Our Campbell Street bakery is also just down the road if your morning calls for another stop.

Sundays at SG Sunday Markets

University of Southern Queensland · Every Sunday
Spring/summer 7am–12pm · Autumn/winter 8am–1pm

For those on Toowoomba’s southside, SG Sunday Markets make a lovely local stop for bread and pastries.

Browse artisan stalls, meet the makers and pick up a coffee to go with something from our stand. You’ll find our signature pastries and a selection of fresh bread made with organic flour, with plenty of easy free parking close by.

The Japanese Garden is nearby too, so make a morning of it. Take your pastries and coffee for a wander and find a spot to sit and enjoy them.

Whether you’re stocking up for the week or choosing something to eat before you’ve made it to the next stall, come and say hello. We’ll have something worth stopping for.
