Spring Took a Savoury Turn
Spring has arrived at The Baker’s Duck, and this season, the savouries are giving the sweets a little competition.
We’ve filled the cabinet with a fresh line-up made for brighter days. On the savoury side, think prawns and chilli, asparagus and goats cheese and a hot dog wrapped in croissant pastry. On the sweet side, there’s tropical pineapple, zesty lemon, carrot cake and plenty of custard.
HERE’S WHAT’S WAITING IN THE CABINET THIS SPRING
PRAWN TOAST CROISSANT
Part croissant, part prawn toast, and very much deserving of your attention.
This savoury number brings a little something unexpected to the Spring cabinet, with the buttery layers of a croissant meeting the flavours of a prawn toast favourite.
PIÑA COLADA SCROLL
A little taste of somewhere tropical.
Our Piña Colada Scroll brings pineapple into pastry territory for a bright, sweet addition to the Spring line-up. Holiday optional.
LEMON MERINGUE TART
Spring called for something zesty.
Bright lemon and pillowy meringue make this one for those who like their sweets with a little tang. Fresh, light and just the thing for a sunny afternoon.
ASPARAGUS & GOATS CHEESE DANISH
Spring produce gets the pastry treatment.
Asparagus and goats cheese come together in a savoury Danish that's fresh, creamy and decidedly Spring. Proof that the sweet cabinet doesn't always get to have all the fun.
CARROT CAKE MONKEY BREAD
Carrot cake, but not quite as you know it.
Our Monkey Bread gives the classic a Baker's Duck spin, bringing those familiar carrot cake flavours into a pastry made for pulling apart. Sharing is technically possible.
HOT DOG CROISSANT
Yes, you read that correctly.
The Hot Dog Croissant brings two very good things together in one very good savoury pastry. It's playful, satisfying and right at home in this season's savoury-leaning line-up.
CUSTARD DANISH
Sometimes you don't need to mess with a good thing.
Golden pastry and smooth custard keep this one beautifully simple. A classic addition to the cabinet and a very convincing reason to add one more pastry to the box.
SOMETHING NEW TO SIP
The cabinet isn't having all the Spring fun.
We've also added two seasonal drinks to the menu, available all Spring.
STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE ICED LATTE
Your coffee fix, with a sweeter side.
Rich espresso meets sweet strawberry and an indulgent cheesecake cold foam. Coffee and dessert have officially decided to share a cup.
BASIL BLOSSOM SPRITZ
Light, floral and refreshingly zesty.
Peach, elderflower and lemon come together with fresh basil and sparkling water for a bright, bubbly sip made for warmer Spring days.
